Mike Farrell has had a varied performing and recording career as a keyboardist, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.  Recently he co-wrote the new Alanis Morissette album Such Pretty Forks In The Road.  The album, her first in eight years, entered the Billboard Rock Charts at #1.   Mike also composed new music with Alanis for her smash hit Broadway musical Jagged Little Pill (15 Tony nominations).  The Jagged Little Pill cast album is also a Grammy nominee in 2021.

Other touring engagements include Steve Martin and Martin Short (An Evening You Will Forget for The Rest Of Your Life), Sarah McLachlan, Alanis Morissette, Richie Sambora, Morrissey, Macy Gray, Boy George, Vanessa Carlton, Five For Fighting, Mariah Carey, Nicole Scherzinger and Thompson Square.

Mike is about to begin his fourth season as associate musical director and arranger on the ABC hit reboot of American Idol. Other TV credits include America’s Got Talent, The Four, and Hollywood Game Night.

He also composed the music for the Emmy-award winning Comedy Central hit @midnight with Chris Hardwick. Other original music: Netflix feature A Futile and Stupid Gesture, the NBC documentary Arthur Blank: On A Mission, and the Showtime documentary, Kelly’s Hollywood. He debuted his first feature film score, Hell Baby, at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival.
